As 2016 draws to a close, one
simply wonders where the time
has gone. It seems like
yesterday that the WBF Senior
Executive were doing an analysis
on 2015 and setting goals for
2016. While the year indeed was
successful in many areas, we
still need to work harder next
year in achieving new and
improved goals.
In 2016 we had an increase of
over 20% in the number of fights
in comparison with 2015, we made
friends with several new
countries and had a remarkably
memorable World Convention just
to mention a few of our
successes.
While we try to fill some of our
vacant titles next year, we will
never lose sight of who we are
and what we stand for as an
organization. We will not, while
some other sanctioning bodies
do, compromise on our integrity,
transparency and honesty, and we
will continue at all times to
deliver the most professional
service possible.
Without mentioning anyone by
name, I would like to thank
collectively the entire team at
the WBF family for their hard
work, dedication, time, effort
and above all the sacrifices
made in order to keep the WBF at
the high standards we expect.
I would like to wish everyone a
Merry Christmas and a wonderful
and prosperous New Year. While
boxing is a way of life for all
of us involved in this great
sport, let us not lose sight of
the fact that family is more
important than anything.
I urge you all to spend some of
this festive season with your
loved ones, appreciate what you
have, and come back stronger and
ready for boxing action in 2017.
Until next time, keep boxing.
