The World Boxing Federation 2013
Convention takes place in
Saarbruecken, Germany from the 5th
to the 8th
September.
The purpose of our Convention is
to unite a growing family, and
to even extend this family into
an organization that is built on
trust, honour, transparency and
dignity.
It is an organization where each
and every delegate, attending
for whatever reason, is as
important as the next. It is a
time for friends to re-unite, it
is a time for friends to make
new friends, and it is a time
for fun, humour, debate and
discussion about the greatest
sport in the world.
It is also a time to honour our
champions and our challengers,
fighters who have given their
all, trainers who tirelessly
assess and look after their
fighters, and our WBF team who
has taken the World Boxing
Federation from its
restructuring in 2009 to a much
higher level in 2013 than even
myself expected.
It is also a time for work, to
look back and reflect about what
works, what works well, what
could be improved and the way
forward – the way the WBF will
strive to be even better in this
sport. But one thing is for
certain, we will continue our
ascent in a true professional
manner and we will never
compromise the integrity of
which the WBF is so proud.
There are some extremely
exciting endeavours that the WBF
are involved with at present and
we hope that the WBF current and
future family members join us in
Saarbruecken, just outside
France and Luxembourg.
The World Boxing Federation is
also proud of its transparency
and we extend an open invitation
to the boxing world to join us
in Germany for a great
weekend. I look forward to
seeing all my good friends, to
make new friends and to have a
wonderfully successful
Convention.
Until next time, keep boxing.
