One of my dislikes, which I’ve
learnt to live with though, is
reporters without morals and who
write inaccurately and without
doing some work to get the true
facts, simply in order to sell a
story.
Perhaps it is me who should feel
less sensitive to reporters like
these, but I have always been
one to tell it as it is, with
the facts and with honesty.
So when I read an inaccurate
report about the WBF I took a
deep breath and looked deeper
for the true facts. Without
giving details of this
reporter’s drivel, thus not
giving it the time of day, I
analyzed our organization to see
where we are today and where we
are going compared to when we
restarted the World Boxing
Federation.
By March next year, most men’s
world titles will be filled. Not
too shabby I would say, and also
most of the champions will be
world class. Equally important
is the huge growth we have had
in our women’s champions with
several of our champions being
the # 1 on boxrec. Equally not
shabby I would add.
Of course there is room for
improvement and we continue to
reflect on the way we work, what
we do right and where we can do
better. As President I am
extremely proud to head a team
of fantastic people who give
their all to build the World
Boxing Federation.
We are moving upwards rapidly
but we will never lose sight of
who we are, and our love for
boxing.
Until next time, keep boxing.
