Can it be true that we are
already in 2014?Has it been
over four years since we
restructured a new and improved
World Boxing Federation, based
on integrity, transparency,
quality and professionalism? I
look back at our achievements
over the past few years, and am
proud of our team for their hard
work, dedication and commitment
in striving to make the WBF a
top boxing sanctioning
organization.
There can be no doubt that we
are arguably the top sanctioning
body in the world with regard to
women’s boxing, with many of our
champions, past and present,
occupying the # 1 spot in the
world in their respective weight
divisions. Even with this
outstanding performance, we will
not sit back idly.
Rather we will continue to set
the highest standards for our
women’s section and continue to
acquire and maintain champions
who hold top spots in world
boxing. What is even more
rewarding at this point, is to
see the pride and excitement
that our champions have in being
WBF title holders.
Our men’s section improved
dramatically with several new
countries being introduced as
WBF partners. Sure, we have much
work to do in this area, but we
have set our standards high and
will not compromise one inch on
the high professionalism we
have set, and in turn expect
from our champions and
promoters.
Already 2014 looks to be an
exciting and adventurous road to
travel. We are in discussions
with several new countries
regarding staging fights on
their turf, and such
negotiations are at an advanced
stage. Our WBF team continues to
grow with appointments
pending in the Philippines,
Uganda and South America.
Finally let me take this
opportunity in wishing each and
every one of you a good and
successful and healthy 2014. Set
your standards high, dream big,
remain principled and true to
yourself, and above all - make
the right choices!
Until next time, keep boxing.
