It's been a crazy last few weeks
- I have been in the USA for
Amir Mansour's impressive
defence of his Intercontinental
title, in Tanzania where Francis
Cheka showed he has all the
tools in winning the world super
middleweight title and of course
Saarbruecken in Germany where a
globally representation was
evident at our World Convention.
Before talking about the
Convention it would be remiss of
me not to publicly applaud and
congratulate DOG Eventboxing,
and Oliver Heib and Bernhard
Notar certainly left no stone
unturned in making this a
brilliant and unforgettable
weekend of boxing. On behalf of
all at the WBF a big debt of
gratitude to DOG Eventboxing!
The Convention itself was
fantastic - and made so
memorable by so many
factors. The organization was
exemplary, the hotel was superb,
the food excellent, the
excursions interesting and the
fight night unforgettable.
But for me more important than
all that was the fact that the
people who attended were
wonderful.
Warm, humorous, knowledgeable,
and more so all part of the
World Boxing Federation family.
For me to personally spend time
with virtually every person and
getting to know them even better
was something I will
treasure. Our delegates were
great, each and every one of
them, and their superb qualities
as human beings contributed much
to making our organization grow
further.
The World Boxing Federation will
never lower itself to ridiculous
titles like Youth Interim, or
Silver Interim or Special
Gold. These titles are for the
cheaters among the sanctioning
bodies! We will never go back on
our word as integrity is part
and parcel of who and what we
are. We will continue to thrive
setting high standards, but
while doing so, ensure that what
we do is professional and
meaningful.
Again my sincere thanks and
appreciation to every single
person who came to our
Convention from far and near. We
have a great family - long may
it continue.
Until next time, keep boxing.
