POSTPONED! A big World Boxing Federation (WBF) world championship event is set for the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt in Nigeria on Friday December 13.

Unbeaten Taiwo Agbaje, 16-0 (11), will face Filipino Brian James Wild, 12-1-1 (6), for the vacant WBF world Featherweight title on a card promoted by Zeus Sports & Entertainment Promotions.

Agbaje turned pro in 2018, and has been impressive in pushing aside every challenge presented to him, and won the West African Boxing Union title in May of 2022.

Later that year he made a statement by stopping another Filipino warrior in Richard Pumicpic to capture the vacant WBF Intercontinental title.

In fellow southpaw Wild, he will be in with a young and hungry co-challenger who is full of confidence that he can spoil the party.

Wild has only lost to undefeated contender Subaru Murata in Japan, so going abroad for a huge task is nothing new to the 23-year-old.

Agbaje is probably the favourite going in, but this is very much a fight which could go either way. Two excellent boxers in the prime of their careers looking to fulfil their dreams.
