FIGHT REPORT   Photo: Amador Kalonji is the new World Boxing Federation (WBF) All Africa Cruiserweight champion.

South Africa-based Congolese Amador Kalonji won the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) All Africa Cruiserweight title on Friday night, August 30.

At the Vibrant Sports Complex in Cape Town, Kalonji over-powered South African Sandiso Kota in a great action fight, forcing Kota to retire after six rounds.

While Kalonji probably edged every round, Kota gave it his everything and made him work for it, but the strength and power of Kalonji was just too much in the end as Kota took a lot of hard shots.

The new WBF champion won his first professional title and takes his record to 7-1 (3). Kota falls to 4-2 (2).

Interestingly, the fight was interestingly supervised by Sam Goldberg who did a fine job after being taught well by his father, WBF President Howard Goldberg.

Promoters were Jackie Brice Boxing Promotions and David Faas Boxing Productions.
