19-year-old Frenchman Lucas Migotti
passed his biggest test to date on
Saturday night, June 8, when he
defeated Denis Madry from Poland for
the vacant World Boxing Federation
(WBF) Intercontinental Welterweight
title.
In the main event of a show promoted
by Boxing Club Montpellierain in
Aimargues, France, Migotti was sharp
from the start, and impressively
stopped his tough opponent in the
second round.
This was only Migotti´s second fight
since suffering a shock defeat in
February, so he did well to perform
as he did against an opponent who
had produced good results against
tough opposition in recent fights.
Migotti took his professional record
to 9-1 (5), and is certainly a young
man to keep an eye out for in the
future.
Madry (29), who had competed at a
much higher level than Migotti prior
to Saturday night, falls to a
misleading 10-9-1 (5).
