Anthony Riviere won the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Lightweight title on Friday night, June 7, when he defeated rival Alain Christian Sangue in Blagnac, France.

This was their third fight, with each having won one going in. Riviere won their first encounter by split decision in March of 2023, and Sangue got even in the rematch three months later, also by split decision.

And quite extraordinarily, the rubber-match went exactly the same way. After ten even rounds, judges Bruno Dubois and Uwe Lorch scored it 98-92 and 97-93 for Riviere, while judge Vincent Dupas had it 97-93 for Sangue.

Fighting in his home-town, Riviere improved his professional record to 13-6-1 (2). Sangue, born in Cameroon but fighting out of Tours, France, drops to 14-10-2 (3).

The fight was the main event of a show promoted by Blagnac Boxing Club.
