Argentine challenger Jose Hugo
Acevedo became the new World Boxing
Federation (WBF) Intercontinental
Welterweight champion when he
dethroned Lucas Migotti on Saturday,
November 23, at the Palais Des
Sports in Lattes, France.
19-year-old Migotti, who won the
title last June, was making his
first defense against the very
experienced Acevedo (30), a former
Argentina national and South
American champion.
In a taxing and entertaining fight,
“Chinito” Acevedo prevailed when
Migotti didn't come out for the
tenth and final round, making him
the winner by technical knockout.
The new WBF champion is now 16-6-3
(9) since turning pro in 2016.
Migotti, a pro since March of last
year, drops to 9-2 (5), but has
plenty of time to rebound.
The fight was the main event of a
show presented by Boxing Club
Montpellierain.
