Two undefeated Germans will fight
each other for the vacant World
Boxing Federation (WBF)
International Super Featherweight
title on Saturday, June 1, at the
SWH Arena in Halle and der Saale,
Germany.
On a show promoted by Rene Mueller,
local man David Khachatryan, 9-0
(1), will face Andres Klein, 6-0
(2), fighting out of Altoetting in
Bayern.
Khachatryan, the younger man by
twelve years at 28, turned
professional in April of 2022, and
has recorded decent wins over the
likes of Vincenzo Finiello (15-5-2)
and Irving Berry (23-11-2). This
will be his first opportunity to win
a professional title.
Klein (40) entered the paid ranks
late in 2016, at thirty-two, and
didn't have his second bout for
another six years, returning to the
ring in October of 2022.
He too has beaten respectable
opposition, especially Bulgarian
former amateur star Tinko Banabakov
(5-1) and most recently Nicaraguan
Kevin Trana (15-8-2) for the BDB
International title.
Khachatryan still has time on his
side, but for Klein it will be
difficult to see a way back to major
fights if he falls short on June 1.
He will unquestionably do everything
within his power to make up for lost
time.
